The College of Life Sciences of Wuhan University was founded in 1992 by mergence of the
Department of Biology, Department of Virology and the Research Center of Bioengineering.
Currently it consists of seven departments, one teaching center, and one core facility unit. It
also includes two national key labs, one ministerial engineering research center and various
institutes and research centers.
