Research Fields
The molecular mechanisms linking cellular stress pathways and metabolic dysfunctions
ER stress in the molecular pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases
Research Description
Our research aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that link overnutrition, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and metabolic/inflammatory disorders. Employing animal models, we attempt to dissect the physiological actions of theIRE1αarm of the unfolded protein response (UPR) in nutrient-sensing, metabolic control and immune homeostasis. Our studies will provide new insights into the pathogenic mechanisms underlying obesity, type 2 diabetes, NASH and other aging-related chronic inflammatory diseases.
