澳大利亚“研究奖学金”方案 (2011)
【设立目的】:为促进澳中医学研究的交流合作,为武汉大学生命科学学院的优秀学生提供参与世界一流水平研究的机会,由余迪博士倡议(武汉大学生命科学学院97级基地班校友),特设立该奖学金。2011为该奖学金第次三评选。在2008年和2010年评选中,两名05级,两名07级大三学生先后获得该奖学金。

【奖励对象】:武汉大学生命科学学院在读大三本科生
【使用方式】:“研究奖学金”用于支持获奖者赴澳大利亚Monash University开展研究,完成本科毕业论文研究项目。时间为2011年8月至2012年5月,为期10个月。研究的指导人为Dr Di Yu
【奖励金额】:获奖励者1-2名,澳币10,000(约合人民币65,000),以每月1,000的方式发放。
【申请方式】:将英文简历,个人陈述和成绩单发至di.yu@monash.edu。面试将安排于2011年5月(具体时间待定)。结果将于面试后第二天公布。(咨询Email同上)

Di Yu (Ph.D.) received his B.S. from Wuhan University in 2001. He carried out doctoral study with Prof. Carola G. Vinuesa and Prof. Christopher C. Goodnow in the Australian National University (Canberra, Australia), where he investigated the regulation of T-cell help to B cells in germinal centres. He received his Ph.D. in 2007 and subsequently carried out his postdoctoral research with Prof. Charles R. Mackay at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research (Sydney, Australia), focusing on the differentiation and function of follicular helper T cells. In 2010, he was selected as Monash Fellow and appointed as Senior Research Fellow by Monash University (Melbourne, Australia). His research team will investigate the molecular mechanisms of immune responses with the focus to design new strategies to modulate the immune system to treat autoimmune diseases and cancer.
Dr Di Yu’s key publications include first-authored papers (Nature. 2007, 450(7167):299-303 and Immunity. 2009, 31(3):457-68) and co-authored papers (Nature. 2009, 461(7268):1282-6 and Nature. 2005, 435(7041):452-8). He is a recipient of the Excellence Award from Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (2010), the Frank Fenner Medal from the Australian National University (2008), the International Research Award from the Australian Society for Medical Research (2007) and the New Investigator Award from the Australasian Society for Immunology (2006).
